Dallas, TX — 1099 Independent Contractor — Commission + Team Override. Five territories across Texas, Tennessee, and Alabama. You build the team from scratch and run your own territory.
Apply for this positionDecisive Data Technology Group is a UCaaS and managed services provider based in Dallas, Texas, with a second location in Temple. We run our own support organization and manage every customer’s system directly — when something breaks, your customer reaches us, not a carrier call center three vendors away.
We are looking for a management team player to build and develop our multi-site Sales Division. Five territories across Texas, Tennessee, and Alabama, staffed with contract sales associates you recruit, train, and develop.
We are being straight with you: the territories are empty. We have deliberately not hired a single associate, because we would rather the person running this division pick their own people than inherit ours. You will source them, screen them, interview them, and make the case for who we contract. Then you train them and you own how they turn out.
This is not a desk role. You carry the Dallas Central territory yourself — Dallas proper and the inner-ring professional services, legal, and healthcare market, our largest and densest territory — and you earn a full commission on everything you close there. On top of that, you earn an override on every deal your associates close in the other four territories.
Developing people is the core of the job, not a duty attached to it. Our associates come in on commission, some of them newer to B2B, and whether they succeed depends almost entirely on the coaching they get in their first ninety days. If developing people is the part of sales management you actually like, this role is mostly that.
Be clear-eyed about the timing. A typical deal runs around 45 days from first conversation to funded, and your override does not begin until you have associates closing. Your first several months are carried by your own selling. Do not take this role unless you can cover that period.
Full rates and terms are covered in the interview and governed by the executed Schedule A of the DDTG Contractor Agreement.
Strongly preferred: UCaaS, VoIP, telecom, managed IT, or office technology background. Existing relationships with DFW business owners, or with MSPs and IT consultancies anywhere in our footprint, are a significant advantage. Fiber optics experience is a plus — carrier circuits, dark fiber, FTTP, structured cabling.
Two things decide whether we call you: the largest quota you have personally carried and whether you hit it, and the size of the team you have hired or coached. Both are questions below. Answer them plainly.
